This press was from a set of plans I purchased online from a youtuber called @formula_jake the design seemed simple, structurally sound and I like the bottom plate moving up vs. the top plate moving down, just a person preference.

Currently I have added the cylinder (5” cylinder with a 2” bore and an 8” stroke double action from Dalton Hydraulics. A controller and a reservoir tank.

After some minor tweaks, shimming, grinding and fitting, fixing a few leaks and replacing the pump with the correct size, we have squish. This was a great project to build and although I live this press, I want to re-build it shorter with the ram on the top, and with a dual ram set up to prevent racking. I have a few more sets of dies to make, one squaring die, one rain drop die. ut for now I am getting the hang of welding steel successfully now.

I added a mini mill to the workshop about a month ago, I have been practicing with it, making guards, flattening steel, aluminum, etc. Burned up a few end mills already cutting the wrong materials, but have hte machine trammed in nicely and square. This will prove to come in handy for the upgrading of my builds.
